Use your vote to deliver change in Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale.
All too often, I hear stories from people not being able to get a GP appointment or dental appointment, young people not able to find decent jobs, elderly people having to decide whether to heat or eat and people’s cars being damaged by unfixed potholes. This Tory cost of living crisis has left many people feeling like they are at the back of the queue with no support from either the SNP led Scottish Government or the Tory led UK Government.
After 14 years of Tory chaos and 17 years of SNP incompetence that can all change by voting for Labour on July 4th. For the first time in nearly 20 years, you have the opportunity to make Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale Tory free, but to do so I need your support, and only Labour can beat the Tories in this constituency.
If elected, I won’t just be an MP sitting on the opposition benches like my opponents but will be a constituency Labour MP at the heart of a Labour Government maximising my influence for a strong voice for Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale.

The reality is that much has changed since the 2019 election. Recent polling predicts that the Labour Party is in pole position to beat the Tories in Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale, as such every vote matters in this election.
My pledges to you
Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale needs change and Scottish Labour has a plan to deliver:
- STRENGTHEN THE LOCAL ECONOMY by supporting local businesses and having a Government that keeps taxes and mortgages down.
- CUT NHS WAITING LISTS by investing in our health service and funding 160,000 more appointments a year.
- MAKE YOUR WORK PAY with a ban on exploitative zero-hour contracts, end fire and rehire and deliver wages that people can live on.
- REDUCE ENERGY BILLS by setting up Great British Energy, a publicly owned clean power company head quartered here in Scotland.
- CREATE JOBS AND OPPORTUNITIES by improving access to apprenticeships and opposing the Conservatives and SNP cuts to teachers.
